Washington
County Youth Foundation
Mission Statement
The stated mission of Washington County Youth
Foundation is to better the lives of the youth in the community
by issuing grants to the most qualified, charitable, youth-directed
service projects. We desire to better ourselves and the community
by volunteering our time, talents, and treasure.
General Information
Who we are
The Washington County Youth Foundation is a group
of students from our county committed to making Washington
County a better place to live. We have up to 21 members; three
sophomores, juniors and seniors from Eastern, Salem and West
Washington and 12 others who can be sophomores, juniors or
seniors at any school or are home schooled. We have been involved
in our community and wish to continue that involvement through
our efforts in the Washington County Youth Foundation.
What we do
We learn about philanthropy (that’s giving
of your time, talent and treasure) by giving away money to
youth groups for community service projects. We also raise
money for our fund with the Foundation so this idea can go
on forever. And in between, we have a little fun!
When and where we meet
We meet on Sunday afternoons and sometimes in
the evenings during the week. There may also be occasional
meetings in the summer. We try to give plenty of
advance notice. Right now, we are meeting at the Washington
County Community Learning Center. Oh, and we try to throw in
a party or two.
